Are Land Rovers Reliable?
Originating in the late 40s and into the early 50s, Land Rover has for decades been pioneers of adventure, luxury, and capability. The early Land Rover Defenders earned credibility for their Overland abilities and reliability while out on journeys across the globe. One of the earliest noteworthy adventures was a journey in 1955 from London to Singapore in one of the earliest Land Rover vehicles - a trek and distance halfway across the world. In the early days that is what helped Land Rover gain worldwide notoriety and respect for being reliable and dependable vehicles.
Land Rover and Range Rover hold similar values today as they once did. For example, in 2013 a Range Rover Sport recently broke the speed record for traveling across earth's largest sand desert in a production SUV.
Like many cars, a Range Rover or Land Rover will perform best when they are best taken care of and also like any car, they still require standard maintenance and service from time to time. More so, a vehicle that is advertised and marketed as a luxury vehicle will typically require parts that are more expensive than a car that might be on the more economical side of the market. While a ton of Land Rover vehicles were sold over the years, and as prices with second hand buyers decrease, we can only assume that a large amount of these vehicles have service and maintenance items that are overlooked and ultimately taxed onto the next generation further down the road. Since these vehicles were never ‘the cheapest,’ new Land Rover owners might be surprised at the cost of Repair for Land Rover from time to time.
