Just a routine oil change on an 06 5 series. Psych! We actually had to pull the engine on this car to replace the *valve stem seals*. The valve seals that originally came with these V8 engines were later updated with a better designed seal, which is what we’re currently putting in this motor. The 550i, 545i, 745i, 745iL, 750i, and 750iL all have these same valve stem seals. One of the first signs that your valve seals are going bad is smoke coming from the exhaust, which will keep you from passing smog and as the seals wear they can eventually cause the secondary air system to clog. It’s a pretty large job, but once it’s done it’s covered by our lifetime warranty, so you’ll never have to worry about it again! #valveseals #smog #e60
