2013 BMW 328i Sports Wagon
The 328i Sports Wagon is the third generation in a BMW pet-project with the performance you’d expect and all the features of a family wagon including extra storage, a sunroof and roof rails. The four-door wagon includes a 240hp producing N20 N.0 L 4-cylinder turbo engine that gets 30 MPG highway and can reach 60 mph in 6.2 seconds. This unique coupling of muscle and practicality offers a “versatile platform with engaging performance” according to European Car Magazine.
It should first appear on the market as an automatic and will be available in the Modern, Luxury, Sport and M Sport Lines. Following that, BMW North America will introduce an iDrive version to follow with a 6-speed manual transmission and recommended gear shift. Rear and front wheel drive will be made available.
In terms of the ride, some reviewers have noted a firmer experience due to stiff rear springs that were added in order to support the added weight capacity, while still acknowledging the exceptional steering feel and body control. This should come in handy on bumpy back roads. In short, it’s the best of both world for moms and dads seeking adventure in the outdoors with added fuel economy. The price tag on the 3-series Sports Wagon starts at $37,395.
